Hunday was founded in 1967 by Ray and Edna Law upon immigrating from the UK in 1965. In the UK the family dairy farmed and always wanted to move to Australia and breed Herefords.

The stud was established in Kempsey with the purchase of 10 stud cows from EP Wright at the Benama Stud Nundle.

In 1973 the family was relocated to Quirindi NSW on the Western side of the Great Dividing Range.

After 40 years of breeding in Quirindi, Chris and Michele took sole ownership of the Stud in 2010.
